Message to The Church
Some of you may know me others may not. My name is Jim; I’m not a preacher or public speaker by any means. I was saved almost 11 yrs ago and filled with the Holy Spirit. God has done many great things for my family and me. He’s pulled us thru many hard times the devil put in our way. In the last year or so the Lord started giving me poems. The poems would come to me at times maybe when I needed some uplifting or many times when someone I knew was going thru some trials. I feel so blessed that the Lord allows me to write the words that he gives me. But on Sunday Oct. 31 he gave me something else to write. He has a message to the Church which is really all of us born again Christians. We need to let the unsaved know that time is running out for them, the Lord is getting ready to call His people home. As glorious a day as that’s going to be for you and me, what a sad day for those who don’t know the Lord. Have we made ourselves available to the unsaved? It’s our duty as a Church to bring the Gospel to the world and tell them of what’s coming to those left behind. People need to know there’s an answer for whatever problem they may have, whether it be physical, mental, financial all aspects of their life, Jesus Christ can bring them thru. As a Church we are told in I Peter “Feed the flock of God which is among you taking the oversight there of, not by constraint but willingly, not for money but of ready mind.” It’s so urgent that the people know that without Jesus there is no life. John 6 “ Verily, Verily I say unto you ,except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His Blood you have no life.” As a Church if we don’t teach and tell the sinner what’s ahead for them, whether it be a glorious Heaven or a horrified hell then what Jesus did was for nothing. What He did at the Cross was for all mankind not just us. Jesus prayed for His disciples and all who were to come after them (which is us) who believe in Him. John 17 “ Neither I pray for these alone, but for them also which should believe on me thru their word. That they all maybe one as you , Father , are in me and I in You that they also might be one in Us that the world may believe that You sent Me.” That’s strong prayer for us wouldn’t you say? Have we as a Church made sure the people know that just being a “good person” doesn’t get you into Heaven or doing “ good works” doesn’t get you there either. We read in Luke 13 “Then said one into Him, Lord are there few that be saved? And He said unto them, strive to enter at the strait gate, for I say unto you will seek to enter in and shall not be able. When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door. And you begin to stand without and knock on the door saying Lord Lord open unto us, and He shall answer and say unto you I know not who you are.” The Lord will not recognize “good works” or just being a “good person” In Romans 10 “The word is near you even in your mouth, and in your heart that is the word of faith, which we preach that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus , and shall believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you shall be saved.” Id like to read a article from a Christian publication where the author speaks of the river in Ezekiel 47 He writes “ Ezekiel describes the flow of the river that came from the temple by the alter, He said that it proceeded to the South and then split off into two different directions: one Eastward to the Dead Sea and another branch flowed Westward toward the Mediterranean Sea. I believe that the Dead Sea represents the apostate Church. The Bible is clear that there will be a “ falling away” in the latter days. I’m afraid that’s already happened. Most if not all the old-line denominations both Pentecostal and non-Pentecostal have lost their way. They have opted for psychology , fads, and non Biblical approaches to doctrine and ministry. Their day as an entity is over. However there are still people in these entities that will escape apostacy when the river flows to them. I believe that the apostacy will be to the Church what the Tribulation will be to the Jew. Most will be lost, but a remnant will be brought out to serve and to promote the Lord. The Mediterranean Sea represents the lost populations of the world. From the Mediterranean every major body of water can be reached. As the river flows into these waters, a magnificent harvest of souls will be realized. One message will accomplish both tasks. It’s the message of faith and Grace. It’s the message of Life. It’s the message of the Cross. God has called you to be a part of the “ river.” You can do it by accepting the Message and applying it to yourself personally. Second you are to spread the Message through a local assemble in your place of residence. Third you are to spread this Gospel to the religious and to the lost across the world. “ Let the river flow” We as a church need to continue to let the river flow. We must never stop letting the river flow until the Lord’s triumphant return. This river is wide enough to carry all who wish to partake. In order for us as a Church to keep the river flowing we must follow the guidelines of the Book of Acts Church . The sad thing is that most Church’s don’t do that part of the Gospel. My question to us as a Church is why? Why do we only preach part of the Gospel, aren’t we told to take all of God…not just what makes us feel good. Let’s take a look at the guidelines.1. Salvation by the Blood of the Lamb.. “ but if we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” I John2. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. “ And when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting and there appeared to them tongues like as of fire and it say upon each of them, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues. Acts 23. Power to live an overcoming life according to our Faith in Christ and what He did on the Cross, which gives the Holy Spirit latitude to work in our lives. “ what shall we say then? Shall we continue to sin that Grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we who are dead to sin live any longer there in “ Romans 6 4. The power of the Lord to heal the sick. “ Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders in the church and let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” James 55. That we preach the Rapture of the Church. “ For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout with voice of the archangel and with the trump of God. The dead in Christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” I Thessalonians 46. We preach the second coming of our Lord to rule and reign on this earth for 1000 yrs along with the Glorified saints. “ And after these things I have heard a great voice of much people in Heaven saying Alleluia, Salvation , and Glory and Honor and Power unto the Lord our God. For true and Righteous are His Judgments.” Revelation 19Sadly enough how many times have we as a church spoke about the Rapture of the Church, the Second coming of our Lord. How often have we told the sinner what’s ahead for them if they continue on the path they are on. Are we as a Church fooling ourselves that all our saved in our church’s. Are we worried about losing them as part of the congregation if we tell them about their sins? Well if we don’t tell them then we’ve lost them anyway. I heard someone say once concerning the church “are we filling our church’s with religious people or saved people?” How many times has the Man or Woman in the back row been coming in and never yet given their lives to Christ? Is it because he or she feels safe here, and maybe doesn’t have to worry about being convicted of their sins. My friend if you’re coming to church and you’re being convicted then there’s a reason. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God unless we confess our sins. It’s time as a Church we stop worrying about hurting someone’s feelings, or making them unhappy. Because when the trump sounds and the Lord comes back they’re going to be hurting much more than if we’d told them they were sinners. Ask yourself a question if the trumpet sounded today did we as a church do all we could to let that person know they were a sinner…or did we just make them feel comfortable? By Jim Couch
